We have all heard of the term 'BORN AGAIN'.
Some people understand that term and some don't.
Some others have even speculated that it's a term invented by 'Christians', 'Charismatics', or by the 'Pentecostals'.
But the term 'Born Again' was not invented by any of the above mentioned peoples.
In fact, the very expression was used by Jesus himself.
Jesus said,
"Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God" - John 3:3
This is where we begin our study today.
Look at the words of Jesus again. He said 'Except a man be born again' he cannot see the kingdom of God.
In other words, the belief that some people have that if they are 'good enough', or that 'somehow' when Jesus comes back they will be 'lucky enough' to find themselves in heaven or in the Kingdom is a false belief.
Some people think that it's not necessary to be born again, and that somehow they will be saved in that day.
But the bible clearly shows us in this scripture that it's not so.
In fact, if you would study the story a little further you would notice that Nicodemus asked Jesus a question that many people ask today.
Nicodemus said, "How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born?" - John 3:4
Jesus answered, "Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh
is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit." - John 3:5,6
But the emphasis of the message were the very next words of Jesus.
He said, "Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again" - John3:7
See that? Jesus said 'Ye MUST' be born again. He said don't marvel, or don't be surprised, you MUST BE BORN AGAIN.
Being born again is not a choice, it's not an option, it's a must for every person who wishes to be part of God's kingdom.
God will not be merciful to you or you will not be lucky by some accident. You have to be born again in order to be a part of his kingdom.
It's like a person wanting to work for an organization, or enrolling for a certain school.
The company or school will not just call you by accident, and then you find yourself somehow in that organization.
You will have to sign in papers that record that you are now a member of the company or school.
That's how it is with the kingdom of God. You will have to be born again in order to be a part of the kingdom.
But how do I get born again?
I wish not to put too much text in this writing lest it become too long for the reading, but I can tell you what anyone must do in order to get born again.
Just simply pray this prayer, meaning it with your heart.
"Oh Lord God. I come to you in the Name of Jesus. I confess that Jesus Christ is Lord over my life. I believe with my heart that God raised him from the dead.
I receive eternal life into my spirit and I am now a part of God's kingdom. I am now a new creation."
If you do this you will get born again.
